Cameron Stevens, founder and President of Accent, began his landscaping career as a teenager, offering residential landscaping services. After installing his first irrigation system, he was intrigued by the efficiency and novelty of the system and dedicated himself to perfecting the art of irrigation. While attending college at Texas Tech in the growing city of Lubbock, Cameron would post fliers around new residential developments, advertising his landscaping and irrigation services. After graduating with a degree in Real Estate Finance in a recession, he expanded his services into the commercial space out of El Paso, Texas, officially incorporating the company in 1979. In 1984, he opened a second office in Albuquerque, New Mexico expanding services into the state as well as Arizona and Colorado. More than four decades later, with over a quarter of a billion dollars worth of commercial landscape and irrigation work, Accent has grown from a small business with a handful of employees to one of the Southwest’s largest commercial contractor with over 300 employees across the two offices.

In 2015, Chris Christensen joined Accent as a Project Engineer in Albuquerque and was promoted to Project Manager and company Vice President in 2022, managing a full portfolio of projects for the New Mexico office. As a graduate of University of New Mexico with a degree in Business, Chris started his own company, Lobo Liquidators, with a fellow graduate and brings his entrepreneurial know-how to the Accent leadership team. After selling the business, he began a career with Target Corporation through their leadership program and was eventually promoted to the Executive Team Leader of Logistics.
